Meet Jody: Lapidary Artist

Jody is Terrapothecary’s primary lapidary artist and a gifted lifelong artist with a natural eye for color, shape, and detail. In our Huffman, Texas studio, he transforms rough stone into polished cabochons, jewelry, keepsakes, and one-of-a-kind works of art.

His creative process begins by studying each stone—its patterns, colors, natural markings, and hidden possibilities. He carefully cuts, shapes, grinds, and polishes the material to reveal the beauty that has been waiting inside. Because no two stones are ever exactly alike, every finished piece has its own character and story.

Jody’s work includes hand-finished cabochons, wire-wrapped and metalsmithed jewelry, custom stonework, and commissioned pieces created for special people and meaningful occasions. This page offers a look inside his studio, featuring current works in progress, past creations, and some of the custom jewelry he has produced throughout the years.

We invite you to follow along as Jody turns treasures from the earth into art meant to be worn, displayed, gifted, and cherished.

A Lifelong Artist

For Jody, creativity has never belonged to just one medium. His artistic background and natural attention to detail influence everything he creates—from original artwork and hand-finished stones to wire-wrapped, metalsmithed, and commissioned jewelry. He approaches each piece with patience and imagination, allowing the materials and the story behind the commission to guide the finished design.
