Terrapothecary is more than a business to me—it is a lifelong dream finally coming to life.

My journey as an entrepreneur began with graphic design, which is what I studied in school. For more than 20 years, I created artwork, designed personalized products, and helped individuals, schools, organizations, and businesses bring their ideas to life through promotional products.

Jody and I later opened Java Joe’s Coffee Shop here in Huffman, which we owned and operated for eight years. It was not an ordinary coffee shop. Under one roof, we served coffee and breakfast burritos, operated a drive-thru, created business cards and promotional products, printed custom shirts through T-Shirts Today, and displayed apparel—including our Huffman Falcons designs. Customers could stop for their morning coffee and order their business cards or a T-shirt at the same time. We also operated a second Java Joe’s location inside the local high school, where we had the privilege of serving and getting to know the students and staff. Those years connected us deeply with the Huffman community and remain a very special part of our story.

When we eventually brought our work into our home studio, our creativity continued to grow in new directions. For more than 15 years, I have studied essential oils and their many uses, developing the knowledge and experience that now guide our Terrapothecary essential-oil blends.

About ten years ago, Jody and I began collecting stones and studying lapidary. What began with a love of rocks and the beauty found in nature grew into cutting, shaping, grinding, and polishing stones of our own. From there, we continued learning metalsmithing, silversmithing, and wire wrapping, creating ways to transform those stones into meaningful, wearable, and lasting treasures.

Our creative journey continued through personalized engraving, beekeeping and harvesting honey from our own hives, and freeze-drying fruits, treats, herbs, and other favorites. Each new skill became another piece of a dream that had been quietly taking shape for years.

Through every chapter, I kept gathering knowledge, developing new skills, collecting equipment, and dreaming about the day when everything we loved could come together in one meaningful place.

Terrapothecary is that place.

From our home studio in Huffman, Texas, we create Terrapothecary offerings that bring together personalized gifts, hand-finished stone treasures, engraved keepsakes, essential-oil blends, freeze-dried favorites, honey harvested from our own hives, and thoughtfully assembled gift baskets and boxes. Every item is created, finished, assembled, or packaged right here by us, with careful attention to the details that make it personal.

We do not want to create ordinary, mass-produced gifts. We want each Terrapothecary order to feel personal.

A gift may include a name, a meaningful date, a handwritten message, a carefully chosen stone, or words that someone will hold onto for years. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, comforting a loved one, thanking a teacher, honoring a friendship, or simply reminding someone that they matter, we want to help you create something that speaks from the heart.

Terrapothecary is inspired by faith, nature, creativity, and the belief that the most meaningful treasures are often the ones that carry a story. Every stone has its own markings. Every handmade item has its own character. Every person has a story worth honoring.

This business has been built slowly—with decades of experience, thousands of stones, many different tools, plenty of trial and error, and a great deal of love. It represents everything Jody and I have learned and created together, along with my belief that God gives each of us gifts that are meant to be used and shared.
